Get a little jazzy this Thursday at Gingko Blue on Fore Street in the Old Port where Hot Club Du Monde will be bringing their stringed gypsy-jazz to life right around 8 o’clock. Tonight’s show is free and sure to be swinging, so check it out if you’re hanging around downtown tonight.

The Dapper Gents will be rocking out their own brand of acoustic folk-pop tonight over at The Dogfish Bar & Grill on Free Street in Portland. Anticipate good times and good tunes with these fellas beginning at 8 o’clock.

San Francisco based singer, composer and cultural activist Meklit Hadero performs at SPACE Gallery on Congress Street in Portland tonight. Meklit is well known for breaking down genres by covering pop-rock hits in her own unique style, as well performing her own original solo work, which has helped to dub her as a “modern queen of soul.” Portland’s own Reverie Machine will kick things off tonight with an opening set starting right around 8.

Local singer-songwriter Heather Styka kicks off her new monthly series at Blue on Congress Street. Tonight starting at 9 check out Truth or Dare, a songwriters in the round event that’s sort of like a middle school sleepover, but with songwriters. Tonight’s Truth or Dare is free and should be a lot of fun, so swing through and check things out.

The Big Easy in Portland re-opens under new management this evening welcoming back Thursday night favorites Band Beyond Description . Expect the usual hula hoops, hippies, and good times for all to take place starting around 9 with Portland’s favorite Grateful Dead cover band who actually cover more than just The Dead, so if you’re into mellowing your mind and getting your noodle on, get down to The Big Easy tonight.

Kilcollins will be pop-rockin’ all night long down at RiRa on Commercial Street this thirsty Thursday. Starting at the fellas will be busting out all sorts of tunes that you know in love alongside some catchy original stuff. Tonight’s show is free, so check it out if you’re downtown this evening.

Hello Newman is ready once again to pump out the jams with a free night of fun upstairs at Bull Feeney’s in the Old Port. Starting at 9:30 the fellas will be rockin’ all of your favorite 90s tunes. There’s never a cover, so check it out if you’re feeling a little nostalgic this evening.
