Grant Street Orchestra & friends bring the party to The Big Easy tonight

All right, here we go!  Monday was a bit of a mess for me as I don’t feel like I accomplished much of anything; I might chalk that up to wet brain from the weekend, so I’m hoping to get my A Game on today into tonight as Tuesday is shaping up to be quite the party.

If you’re up in the Naples area this Tuesday evening, swing through Bray’s Brew Pub where the one and only Mr. Eric Bettencourt will be playing with a couple of pals outside, for free right around 6. Enjoy Betts’ incomparable voice and unique guitar stylings if you’re in the area tonight.

Start things off this evening with some good tunes out on a deck overlooking the ocean down at the Portland Lobster Company on Commercial Street where local rocker, Ryan Halliburton will be teaming up with some of his talented friends to play some sunshiny songs starting right around 6 o’ clock

Get ready to kick up your heels and drink a pint or two at The Thirsty Pig on Exchange Street in Portland tonight as Matt Meyer and The Gumption Junction gear up for a rollicking live show that starts right around 6 o’clock. The fellas will be serving up some rootsy, old timey, mountain music for you to stomp your feet to. There isn’t a cover charge and there’ll be plenty of beer and delicious treats at your disposal so stop on by and check it out this evening.

More in the way of outside entertainment will be happening down at El Rayo in Portland as the exceptionally entertaining and truly unique Maine Marimba Ensemble will be doing their thing outside on the patio starting right around 7.

Blue on Congress Street offers up a fun way to spend your Tuesday night with their Open Mic in the Round event. Starting at 7 you can place your name in a hat and you’ll be paired up with two other folks to play some tunes. Everyone is invited to stop through and try out some new stuff in the new format. Right around 8:15ish Scott Link, otherwise known as Diesel Doug from Diesel Doug and the Long Haul Truckers will perform a featured set of tunes to close out the event. It’s free, fun and guaranteed to be a good time, so stop by and check it out.

If you’re up in the Belfast area tonight, be sure to check out a giant dance party that’ll be taking place at Three Tides in celebration of David Carlson’s birthday. Starting at 8 o’clock DJs Patrick Barry, Ian Hammond and Matty T will be spinning all kinds of tunes for you to bust a move to.

The Oak and The Ax on Main Street in Biddeford invites one and all to an evening of music featuring performances from Chicago’s Crown Larks, Portland’s own folk punk act Butcher Boy, and Drab Pony. This evening’s show gets underway right around 8.

Prepare to break one helluva sweat down at The Asylum in Portland as DJs Kurt Baker and Mark Curdo spin all of the best party tunes that have ever been recorded all night long! Every Tuesday you can find Mark and KB downstairs in the basement of The Asylum as they join rock n’ roll forces for Wild Thing, a serious dance party that features the finest garage rock, mod, wild soul, punk, new wave, surf, maximum R&B and more! It’s a dollar to get in and there are $1 beers and $3 well drinks to keep you good and hydrated as you hit the dance floor. Things get shaking right around 8:30 tonight, so stretch it out and then check it out!

This week’s Cover to Cover at The Big Easy in Portland features Grant Street Orchestra, Saiyid Brent and special guests as they prepare a party filled with friends, wild antics and hip-hop as they cover The Roots’ classic album Do You Want More?!!???! The fellas of GSO will kick things off with a set of original tunes followed by the album in its entirety. Don’t miss this epic party as things kick off right around 9.

Show off your powerful pipes down Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge on Preble Street in Portland as DJ Ponyfarm presents another Tuesday of free karaoke. You can be your own rock star and show Slainte what’s up by singing some of your favorite 90s jams starting right around 9.

Open mic night continues this Tuesday evening over at Bull Feeney’s in the Old Port with lead vocalist of The Dappered Gents, Jacob McCurdy. Tonight Jacob invites one and all to show off their stuff beginning 9:30. If you’ve really got some skills you might even find yourself with a paying gig at Bull Feeney’s, so grab your ax and get ready to bust it out tonight.
