We’ve made it this far, so just keep pushing! Two days down, two to go and then it’s on to the freakin’ weekend, babies! Luckily this Wednesday is giving us a variety of places to go in order to hurdle the hump on a high note. Bust out your Mid-Week Party Pants and get ready break it on down tonight all over the dang place!
All April long Gingko Blue on Fore Street in the Old Port has been celebrating Jazz Appreciation Month with a ton of great local talent. Tonight the party continues with The Peter Merrill Trio who will be covering an array of classics with their own straightforward spin on their favorite smooth and cool jazz. It’s an early show that’s also entirely free so be sure to check it out when things start swingin’ right around 6 o’clock.
Tonight be sure to check out some free fun down at Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge on Preble Street in Portland for this week’s open mic hosted by local singer-songwriter, Dustin Saucier. Starting right around 8, you can check out local musicians as they do their thing on stage or even sign up to jam out a few tunes of your own. As always, tonight’s event is free-of-charge and certain to be a good time.
Tonight at The Big Easy in Portland Rap Night is proud to present Wrap It Up Night, the first in a series of benefit shows for local non-profit organizations. Tonight’s show will benefit the Frannie Peabody Center, a comprehensive HIV and AIDS services provider here in Portland. Tonight’s event will feature performances from local hip-hop royalty Sandbag, eyenine, Mike Clouds and many other special guests. Do some good and check out some up and coming emcees as tonight’s show gets rockin’ right around 9 o’clock tonight.
If you’re looking to get off the couch and get your socks rocked off this evening then I would suggest checking out this evening’s show down at Flask Lounge on Spring Street in Portland. Tonight local acoustic rocker Paul Andrew Chase Jr. will get the night started properly as he opens up for DC’s guitar driven indie rock act Alex Vans and The Hideaway. Expect good times and good tunes as things get crankin’ around 9 tonight.
