Get down with The Ghost of Paul Revere at the Dogfish Bar & Grille

Well by the way tonight is shaping up it looks as though the weekend has arrived a day early, and you know what?  I’m pretty okay with that.  So let’s hike up those Party Pants and do it to it this Thirstday evening.

Brooklyn trio, Tumbling Bones rattles up on to the stage of Local Sprouts in Portland this evening with their own unique brand of Americana tunes. Check these fine fellas out as they play a free, all ages show, which gets underway right around 7 o’clock.

Your last chance to catch the always entertaining Pete Witham & The Cozmik Zombies downstairs at Empire Dine and Dance happens tonight right around 7:30. For the past few months these fellas have been bringing to the life the best rockabilly, honky tonk and twisted Americana your little heart could desire, but with Empire undergoing some changes this will be the band’s last Thursday night gig during their residency. So be sure to strap on those dancing shoes, hike up those Party Pants and get ready to do some damage tonight with Pete and the boys!

Mathew’s on Free Street in Portland gets hit hard with some heavy rock as Cold Falling, Fates Last Fight and Recently Vacated Graves take to the stage for a night of bone crushing tuneage. Check things out as they get underway right around 8 tonight.

One of my favorites, The Ghost of Paul Revere  will be getting things rollin’ over at Dogfish Bar & Grille on Free Street right around 8. If you’re into awesome stringed tunes, soaring voices, and foot stomping melodies, then be sure to make your way to Dogfish for tonight’s free show.

If you’re in the Acton area this thirsty Thursday evening be sure to check out the first ever hip hop open mic taking place down at Iron Tails Saloon. Starting at 8 o’clock the fellas of Click North will be hosting this inaugural rap night for up and coming emcees to showcase their talents. Click North will close things out with an original set of tunes to keep the party jumping.

If you’re in the market for a little country & western then make your way down to The Asylum in Portland where tonight Gloriana will take the stage alongside special guest Chase Rice. I do believe tickets are still available for this show, which gets started right around 9.

Local bluesmen Samuel James and Dana Gross team up to bring you a night of tunes over at Blue on Congress Street in Portland. Starting at 9 these talented dudes will be singing some tunes and plucking some guitar strings to help you thoroughly enjoy your Thursday evening, so check it out.

If you wanna shake what your momma gave ya, then look no further than Flask Lounge on Spring Street in Portland where the Blaqdada Dance Party, hosted by DJs Bary Juicy and Che Ross, commences right around 9. Swing on by and shake those hips this Thirstday evening at this absolutely free dance party.

Thursday night means it’s about that time for Vinyl Tap to bring the thunder to Gritty’s in the Old Port with their delightfully danceable covers that range from Huey Lewis to Cee Lo Green, The Beatles, Stevie Wonder and everything in between. There’s never a cover charge and plenty of beer, so check it out starting at 9:30.

Perhaps you’re feeling a bit nostalgic for the days of yore i.e. the 90s and want to bust a move to some tunes from bands such as Sublime, Blink 182, and even Chumbawumba (yup, Chumbawumba), then you should probably head out to Bull Feeney’s in the Old Port where 90s cover band Hello Newman will be getting the party started right around 9:30 tonight.

Mellow your mind with some stellar jams down at The Big Easy in Portland for another fun night with the one and only Band Beyond Description. Far more than just your typical Grateful Dead cover band, these fellas jam out on everything from Phish, the Allman Brothers, The Band and more. Anticipate good times, good tunes and good people starting right around 10.
