Thursday, what in the what took you so long to get here?! This week has been a true test to see if I still remember how to function during a normal work week. It’s been pretty iffy, so therefore I am overwhelmingly thankful that Thursday is finally upon us and the weekend is very much in sight. Wondering what’s shaking tonight? I gotcha covered, here we go!

If you’re north of Portland tonight and hanging out and about around the Lewiston area, make some moves to Irish Twins Pub for another open mic night with local singer-songwriter Matt Fournier. Grab your guitar and get ready to play some tunes and have some fun as tonight’s event gets going right around 8 o’clock.

Trigger Happy, a new musical collective featuring a plethora of talent, will be taking the stage of Port City Music Hall on Congress Street in Portland this Thursday evening. Trigger Happy features Black Crowes drummer Steve Gorman as well as vocals from Joan Osborne and Jack Greene – who also plays keys and guitar, as well as guitarist Tom Bukovac and bass player Nick Govrik. NYC’s Swear and Shake will get things in gear with a folk infused rock n’ roll set as things kick off right around 8pm.

Down at The Oak and The Ax on Main Street in Biddeford you can check out a collection of intriguing indie rock acts as three local bands take to the stage starting at 8 this Thursday. Check out music from Baroses, which features Wesley Allen Hartley and friends, as well as AFRAID, and post-rock folk act Butcher Boy.

Flask Lounge on Spring Street in Portland welcomes the Stop Tito Collective tonight. Stop Tito Collective blends reggae, rock, jam and funk into a fully energetic live show that is certain to warm you up this Thursday. Things get started at 9 with a special DJ set courtesy of Dek-Dek.

Local music podcast,, will be recording its first live episode of 2014 at Geno’s in Portland tonight. This lively podcast has been bringing the music community together through informative and hilarious chats each and every week and tonight they welcome special guests (and Maine hip-hop’s finest) Brzowski, C Money Burns and Lady Essence to their internet roundtable for a night of stories and music. It should be an entertaining time with some funny and talented individuals, so swing through and check it out if you’re hanging around this evening.

The fellas in Hello Newman are ready once again to pump out the jams with a free night of fun upstairs at Bull Feeney’s in the Old Port. Starting at 9:30, you can check out the band as they rock all of your favorite 90s jams. There’s never a cover charge, so swing through and check it out if you’re feeling a little nostalgic this evening.

Right across the street at Gritty’s, Vinyl Tap will also be partying down this thirsty Thursday will all over your favorite dance jams. Vinyl Tap is known for making people bust a move to their wide array of danceable cover tunes that span between everything from everything The Beatles to Huey Lewis, Cee Lo Green, Stevie Wonder, The Dead and many, many more. There’s never a cover charge and plenty of beer, it is Gritty’s after all, so check it out starting at 9:30 tonight.

Shake off the winter blues and do the Urkel down at 90s Nite at Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge on Preble Street in Portland. Starting at 10, there’ll be a Full House of mayhem and music with your favorite pair of Perfect Strangers, Connor and Spencer.
