Posted: September 24, 2013 celebrates their 3rd anniversary with some live music at The Big Easy

Doing it to it is the only way I can describe my own actions this week as I’m hammering super hard to successfully make it to Friday. If you’re hoping to let off a little steam this Tuesday night with some tasty tuneage, then check out what the what is around town and beyond right here!

Local piano pop-rocker Will Gattis will be playing a free, fun show this evening at the wonderful Local Sprouts on Congress Street in Portland. Beginning at 7, check out some upbeat, piano-driven tunes from Mr. Gattis.

Local music podcast,, celebrates three years of bringing the music community together through informative and hilarious chats each week with a big ol’ celebrationg at The Big Easy in Portland tonight. Starting right around 8, Trent, Dan, and Kevin of will be recording a live episode with special guests Kenya Hall and Shane Reis. There will also be some live musical performances throughout the evening, so stop through and check things out tonight.

Check out The Asylum in Portland this Tuesday evening where DJs Kurt Baker and Mark Curdo are spinning all of the best party tunes for you to work it on out to. Seriously though, I dare you guys to come bust out your finest Party Pants and cut a rug because it’s gotten a bit embarrassing for Kurt Baker when he looks out to see just me awkwardly dancing by myself out on the dance floor. The sadness that is drawn upon KB’s face when this happens is one of the most upsetting and heartbreaking things I’ve seen in a while. So make your way over to Wild Thing, a serious dance party featuring the finest garage rock, mod, wild soul, punk, new wave, surf, maximum R&B and more. It’s a dollar to get in and there are $1 beers and $3 well drinks to keep you hydrated as you hit the dance floor. Things get shaking right around 8:30 tonight, so stretch it out and then check it out!

If you’re taking in some tunes down in the Dover, NH area this Tuesday be sure to check out an awesome punk-pyscho-rockabilly show (that’s a lot of hyphenated awesomeness right there) down at Sonny’s Tavern where beginning at 9 you can check out sets from the Koffin Kats, The Outsiders, and The Skeleton Beats.

Flask Lounge in Portland is all presents another Tuesday night edition of Drop It: Open Decks Night. Beginning right around 9 o’clock you can stop through and sign up for a spot DJing on some open tables. All you’ll need to participate are some tunes and headphones – all genres of music are welcome!

Down at Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge in Portland, DJ Ponyfarm presents another entertainment-filled evening of free 90s themed karaoke.  That’s right, if you’re looking to belt it out and be your own rockstar this Tuesday, you can do just that starting at 9 o’clock at this absolutely free event.

And yet another great spot to show off your musical prowess will be taking place down at Bull Feeney’s in the Old Port as lead vocalist of The Dapper Gents, Jacob McCurdy hosts another open mic event.  Tonight Jacob invites everyone onto the stage to show off musical talents right around 9:30.

If you’re looking to take some time out this Tuesday and chill to some experimental jazz with some truly cool cats then mosey on down to Local 188 on Congress Street where the Jaw Gems will be doing their thing from 10 o’clock until closing time.
