Div Kid covers the Foo Fighters' One By One at The Big Easy tonight

Here’s hoping none of you floated away during Monday’s torrential down pours! Monday was a bit of a mess for me as I don’t feel like I accomplished a damn thing; I might chalk that up to wet brain from the weekend, so I’m hoping to get my A Game on today into tonight as Tuesday night is shaping up to be quite the party. Here’s what’s taking shape this Tuesday evening!

There’s really nothing better than spending a warm summer evening out on a deck overlooking the salty Atlantic sea while sipping on some ice cold beverages and taking in some good tunes. If this sounds like a perfect Tuesday evening adventure for you, then make your way down to Portland Lobster Company on Commercial Street local rocker, Ryan Halliburton will be teaming up with some of his talented pals to play some sunshiny songs starting right around 6 o’ clock.

And even more in the way of outside entertainment will be happening down at El Rayo in Portland as the exceptionally entertaining and truly unique Maine Marimba Ensemble will be doing their thing outside on the patio starting right around 7.

Folk-rocker Brian Patricks will be playing a handful of original tunes paired with classic cover songs that everyone knows and loves down at Andy’s Old Port Pub, which is also on Commercial Street in Portland. Patricks begins his set right around 7 and will rock you on in to the 9 o’clock hour this Tuesday evening.

Blue on Congress Street offers up a fun way to spend your Tuesday night with their Open Mic in the Round event. Starting at 7 you can place your name in a hat and you’ll be paired up with two other folks to play some tunes. Everyone is invited to stop through and try out some new stuff in the new format. Right around 8:15ish Greg Klein of Dark Hollow Bottling Company will perform a featured set of tunes to close out the event. It’s free, fun and guaranteed to be a good time, so stop by and check it out.

Make some moves and get ready to break one helluva sweat down at The Asylum in Portland as DJs Kurt Baker and Mark Curdo spin all of the best party tunes that have ever been recorded all night long! Every Tuesday you can find Mark and KB downstairs in the basement of The Asylum as they join rock n’ roll forces for Wild Thing, a serious dance party that features the finest garage rock, mod, wild soul, punk, new wave, surf, maximum R&B and more! It’s a dollar to get in and there are $1 beers and $3 well drinks to keep you good and hydrated as you hit the dance floor. Things get shaking right around 8:30 tonight, so stretch it out and then check it out!

There’ll be a lot of interesting sounds being made on the stage of SPACE Gallery in Portland tonight as Brooklyn’s seven-piece heavy psych, free-jazz act NYMPH takes to the stage alongside experimental pop duo Christy & Emily and Portland’s own blues-punk rockers The Coalsack in Crux. Tonight’s show begins right around 8:30.

Cover to Cover continues tonight down at The Big Easy in Portland with local rockers Div Kid taking on the Foo Fighters’ 2002 album One By One. Joining the fellas on stage to get the job done will be Ian Blanchard of Headstart and Ian Riley of Spencer and the League of Bandsmen. A set of pop rock originals from Div Kid will kick off the night right around 9 o’clock, so swing through and rock n’ roll with us tonight!

Belt ‘em out this evening down Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge on Preble Street in Portland as DJ Ponyfarm presents another Tuesday of free karaoke. You can be your own rock star and show Slainte what’s up by singing some of your favorite 90s jams starting right around 9.

Open mic night continues this Tuesday evening over at Bull Feeney’s in the Old Port with lead vocalist of The Dappered Gents, Jacob McCurdy. Tonight Jacob invites one and all to show off their stuff beginning 9:30. If you’ve really got some skills you might even find yourself with a paying gig at Bull Feeney’s, so grab your ax and get ready to bust it out tonight.

If you’re looking to straight up chill out this evening, you can always take in some jazzy tuneage courtesy of local act, Jaw Gems, down at Local 188 on Congress Street in Portland. Prepare yourself for some smooth sounds as Jaw Gems gets the music flowing right around 10.
