Dirty White Hats, The Other Bones, Borderlines, and Connor McGrath party down at The Big Easy tonight

Oh my dear beloved, Friday. I want to kiss you on the mouth and buy you a fancy drink. This week has totally crushed my soul and I am so ready to let loose and pull up my Party Pants with pride, so let’s break it on down, shall we?

Folk rock trio Silent Sam & The Evans will be pleasing earholes this evening as they play a free show starting at 7 o’clock over at Local Sprouts. These guys not only super talented, but super nice as well, so be sure to stop by and check them out as you head out on the town this evening.

The Maine Marimba Ensemble will be performing their compex polyrhythmic arrangements of traditional and contemporary Zimbabwean music on their set of impressive homemad marimbas this evening at Mayo Street Arts in Portland to help benefit Tariro, which works to help prevent the spread of HIV and AIDS by educating young women in Zimbabwe. Check out this night of stellar music for a great cause as things get underway around 7:30 tonight.

A fine night of indie and experimental folkin’ gets underway at the always lovely Oak & The Ax on Main Street in Biddeford around 8 o’clock. Tonight be sure to stop by and check out sets from Lonesome Leash, which features Walt McClements from Hurray for the Riff Raff alongside EDT and Methuin Muir.

Local guitar slinger, singer-songwriter, and all-around nice dude, Scott Girouard will be performing a solo set of tunes at Mathew’s on Free Street in Portland tonight. Starting at 8, you can check out Girouard’s original solo set as he displays some classic covers intertwined with some new original jams.

If you’re up in the Lewiston/Auburn area and looking to party it out this Friday night, might I suggest taking in some tuneage at Pedro O’Hara’s where The Repeat Offenders will be reggae-rockin’ all night long beginning at 8.

Up in Thomaston, Billy’s Tavern has another great show lined up for this evening with a solo gig from folk artist Jacob Augustine. Beginning at 8 o’clock you can check out a set of emotional, experimental, and unparalleled folk tunes from Augustine. If you’re up that way tonight I highly suggest you pop in and check it out.

If you’re in the Westbrook area tonight and looking for good eats and tasty tune treats, then get yourself down to The Frog & Turtle on Main Street where Pete Witham & The Cozmik Zombies will be taking over with their own brand of twisted Americana/rockabilly.  These fellas are always a boatload of fun and thensome, so check ‘em out as things get crankin’ around 8:30 tonight.

Two talented and humble pop-rock troubadours get ready to serenade The Blue Mermaid in Portsmouth this Friday evening with a mix of original tunes and classic covers. Beginning at 9, be sure to stop in and check out Hutch Heelan and Jake Roche as they team up for a night of guitars, songs, drinks, and fun.

A big ol’ ruckus rages through the Big Easy on Market Street in Portland tonight as comedic hip-hop-ists, The Dirty White Hats, take to the stage alongside electro-pop-rockers, The Other Bones, pop punkers, Borderlines, and funny man, Connor McGrath. Talk about a lot of bang for your buck this evening as things get crankin’ around 9 o’clock.

Portland party rockers Station 85 will be doing it to it at Brian Boru in the Old Port this Friday night. Starting at 9, the fellas will be kicking out the jams that will be sure to keep you shaking a tailfeather all night long. It’s free and fun, so check it out if you’re looking to bust a move to some fun party tunes

If you’re looking to thrash away your woes of the week then check out tonight’s full-blown rock show down at Geno’s on Congress Street in Portland. Starting at 9, The Coalsack in Crux, AWAAS and Gimme Goldar, which features members of Whip Hands and Heavy Breathing, will be taking to the stage to blast you with some of the best rock around.

Flask Lounge in Portland hosts another edition of Foundation Friday tonight. Every second Friday of the month you can join the peeps at Flask for a free dance party featuring the finest underground dance music and slick video mixes around.  For this month’s edition, special guest Ian Hammond will be on hand to keep things going strong alongside resident DJ Mr. Dereloid. Things get fresh right around 9.

The duo of good ol’ boys, North of Nashville, returns to The Rack up at Sugarloaf tonight for some good times and good tunes. Anticipate tons of foot stomping and singalongs from these country lovin’ fellas as things get going right around 9:00 tonight.

Up in Bangor tonight a couple of sweet indie rock acts will be doing their thing at Sea Dog Brewing. Tonight be sure to catch Forget, Forget and Temperature of the Sun as they share the stage starting at 9 o’clock.

Down in Dover Rock City (Dover, NH – come on, guys), an energized pop-punk show storms the stage of the Dover Brickhouse as A Minor Revolution and When Particles Collide team up for a night of high-energy tunes. Things get underway right around 9 tonight.
