Oh hey, what’s up, Tuesday? The countdown to the weekend, sunshine and perhaps finally ridding myself of scurvy is currently on, but I do appreciate that there’s a wide array of happenings to check out. So at least you have that going for ya, Tuesday, which is nice…
If you’re north of Portland this evening and kicking around the Lewiston/Auburn region, then be sure to check out Maine folk-rocker Brian Patricks at Fast Breaks in Lewiston for a night of fine tuneage. Tonight Patricks will be playing a handful of original tunes in conjunction with classic covers that everyone knows and loves beginning right around 7 o’clock.
Cover to Cover is ready to ride once again this week down at The Big Easy on Market Street in Portland with a dude who has been doing it to it in the local rap scene for a respectable amount of time. Be sure to come down for Dray Sr.’s performance of Jay-Z’s debut album released in 1996, Reasonable Doubt. Dray Sr. will be getting things cranking right around 9 o’clock with an original set of lyrical lovelies that’ll be sure to make your head bob before he takes on Jiggaman’s first record. If you’re in the market for some wicked good hip hop, then I’d suggest scooching your pooch right on down to Cover to Cover.
If you’re south of Portland tonight and looking to take in some tasty roots rock jams this Tuesday then make your way down to Champions Sports Bar in Biddeford where Travis James Humphrey will be playing a solo set of tunes. Humphrey will be doing his thing from 9 to midnight. It’s a free event with plenty of beer on hand so no excuses; check it out!
Another freebie to check out this Tuesday evening is happening at Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge with DJ Ponyfarm as he presents another fun-filled evening of karaoke. You can be your own rock star and show Slainte what’s up by belting out some of your favorite pop jammie jams right around 9 o’clock!
Flask Lounge on Spring Street in Portland is all geared up for another edition of Drop It: Open Decks Night this Tuesday. Starting at 9 you can stop by and sign up for a spot DJing on some open tables. All you’ll need to participate are some tunes and headphones – all genres of music are welcome! It’s free, fun, educational and entertaining so why not swing through and check it out, eh?
If you’re a late evening Tuesday-er, then might I suggest check out some funky experimental jazz courtesy of Jaw Gems at Local 188 on Congress Street in Portland? Tonight these talented cats will be getting down with some sweet vibes and tasty tunes. It’s free and gets underway right around 10pm.
