I wanted to take a moment to extend a giant thank you to all of the men and women who have given, and continue to give, so much of themselves day in and day out to protect our country, its people, and all of the freedoms that we are so lucky to enjoy. Your hard work and endless sacrifices are greatly appreciated and I thank you very, very much.

Check out local singer-songwriter Ronda Dale as she performs live at Andy’s Old Port Pub on Commercial Street. Starting at 7 Ronda will be filling the venue with some satisfying sounds during tonight’s free, all ages acoustic event.
The Exchange, The Thirsty Pig in the Old Port’s weekly open mic event, continues this evening. The Exchange, which takes place every Tuesday, is a gathering open to any and all artists looking to collaborate, showcase, and workshop their original material in front of an audience of peers and music-lovers alike. All ages, genres and musical abilities are encouraged to join in on the fun as host Jim Betts gets things underway right around 7:30pm.
One Longfellow Square in Portland continues with it’s awesome Live & Local Music Series this Tuesday. Every week the venue has been welcoming two local acts to their stage for a night of Maine made music. This week OLS invites you to check out sets from indie rock acts Nice Places and Worried Well as the pair of Portland bands take to the stage for a Tuesday night party starting right around 8 o’clock.
Check out another evening of music from Portland’s only Brazilian choro ensemble, Choro Louco as the act plays a free show at Blue on Congress Street in Portland tonight. Choro Louco, which features local musicians Carl Dimow, Nicole Rabata, Joel Eckhaus, Eric Winter, and Kris Day, get things going right around 8:30.
Slab on Preble Street in Portland presents another of their Solo Tuesday music series as they welcome local songstress Clara Junken to perform a free set of tunes tonight. Clara’s soulful, blues-infused rock tunes command audience attention and deliver enticing musical goods to all ears in close proximity, so be sure to settle in, grab a slice and enjoy some of Clara’s song selections as things get underway during tonight’s free shindig right around 8:30.
Flask Lounge on Spring Street in downtown Portland presents another open mic specifically designed for DJs and producers. Tonight’s event allows up-and-coming producers and record spinners to take a chance up on the decks alongside some the scene’s veteran artists. All you need to bring to participate are some records, CDs and controller. All formats of music are welcome as things get cranking at tonight’s free party right around 9 o’clock.
Join local folk-pop musician Jacob McCurdy for another open mic night at Bull Feeney’s in the Old Port this Tuesday. Jacob invites any and all musicians to hop up on stage and show off their musical capabilities during this free and fun event. Things get started right around 9pm.
If you’re seeking an awesome, chilled out hang this Tuesday then head out to Local 188 on Congress Street in Portland to check out the fellas of Jaw Gems. This talented experimental jazz act returns for a free night of tunes starting at 10.
