I know that it is of course far too early to already be counting down the days until the weekend, but look, it’s Tuesday and we seem to be chugging right along. The fact that we’re one day closer to Friday is plenty enough reason for me to get out there and celebrate by taking in some live tuneage tonight. Here are the haps for this evening.
Start things off with a free show from acoustic singer-songwriter Owen Davis over at Andy’s Old Port Pub on Commercial Street in downtown Portland. This evening Andy will be singing songs starting right around 6 o’clock.
Local singer-songwriter and guitar picker Brian Patricks will be providing the soundtrack to your Tuesday evening as he plays a free show starting at 7 o’clock up at Fast Breaks in Lewiston. Brian will be covering all the hits from yesterday and today as well as sneaking in some catchy originals for y’all. If you’re up in the Lewiston-Auburn area, be sure to swing through and check him out.
Another night of Open Rounds will be happening down at Blue on Congress Street in Portland. Starting at 7 musicians can sign up to be a part of a 3 person round and pick a song to perform with the other two musicians featured in the round. These rounds are open to any one who enters, so if you’re looking to play some tunes with some other folks you should sign up and check it out. The evening will close with a featured set of songs courtesy of local singer-songwriter, Heather Styka right around 8:30 or so. This event is free, fun and a great way to network with other talented artists, so swing through and check it out.
Progressive punk band Circle Takes The Square will be performing live at SPACE Gallery on Congress Street in Portland tonight. B. Dolan and his live band will also be on hand with their experimental blend of metal, hardcore and post-punk. Tonight’s show should be pretty interesting so be sure to swing through and check things out as the music starts at 8:30.
Flask Lounge in Portland presents another open mic for DJs with their free dance party, which allows up and coming record spinners to take a chance and get up on the tables during the event. All you need to bring are your records, CDs and controller. All formats of music are welcome. Tonight’s DJ open mic begins right around 9 o’clock, so check it out.
It’s time once again to show Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge on Preble Street in Portland what’s up by belting some tunes at this week’s free karaoke party with DJ Ponyfarm. Get ready to belt out all of your favorite 90s jams starting at 9 o’clock.
Jaw Gems are serving up some eclectic and experimental jazz jams this Tuesday evening down at Local 188 on Congress Street in Portland. Beginning at 10, this group of talented cats will be laying it down for you to enjoy all night long, so swing through and check ‘em out.
