Check out Anna Lombard live at Slates in Hallowell tonight

So here we are, yet another Monday is upon is and I’m sure it’s ready to do it’s best to completely beat us down, but instead of letting that happen I propose that we hike up our Party Pants and rock this Monday like it has never been rocked before. Boost that Monday morale and get ‘er doing, here we go!

Start  things out tonight with local folk musician Max Garcia Conover as he fills Flask Lounge in Portland with some pleasing acoustic tunes beginning at 6 o’clock. Max and a few of his musically-inclined friends will be providing the soundtrack to your Monday evening, so kick back and enjoy some good tunes, tasty bar fare, and half-priced wine.

If you’re spending your evening near the Lewiston area, drop by Pedro O’Hara’s where local pop-rocker Michael Krapovicky will be hosting another installment of his weekly acoustic open mic night. Tonight’s free and fun event gets underway right around 6:30, so grab an instrument and get ready to make some music this Monday.

Take in some acoustic blues courtesy of local musician Zach Ovington this Monday as he plays a free set at Andy’s Old Port Pub on Commercial Street in Portland starting right around 7 o’clock.

Jazz Night continues at MJ’s Wine Bar located at One City Center in Portland tonight as they welcome a trio of local musicians to perform live this evening. This house band is open to having other musicians sit in and play some music with them, so keep that in mind if you’re into jazzing things up a bit with some talented folks. Things get started right around 7 o’clock and there’s never a cover charge.

South of Portland tonight is another open mic at the Kerrymen Pub in Saco. Starting at 7:30, both solo musicians and full bands are encouraged to take to the stage and do their thing in front of a live audience. Tonight’s shindig is free, fun and a great way to show off your musical capabilities.

Even more in the way of open mic action will be happening at RiRa in Portland where Evan Walsh will be hosting yet another edition of what he calls ‘an adult talent show’. Things get underway around 8 and EvGuy even has some instruments available for you to play. If you can’t actually play anything, then he’ll help you out by performing a version of a song for you to sing along to.

Soulful siren Anna Lombard will be performing live at Slates in Hallowell this Monday. Starting at 8 you can check out Anna and her band as she displays powerful performances full of intense, emotive lyrics as well as soaring, full-range vocals. It should be a really fun night at a really great spot, so if you’re up that way make sure you grab some friends and check things out.

Take in some bluegrass and grab a slice of the best pizza in town over at Otto on Congress Street in Portland where local bluegrass star Joe Walsh and a handful of his friends will be providing a mighty fine soundtrack to your less than mundane Monday. Tonight’s free show gets started at 8 .

Each and every Monday, right through the middle of April, you can warm up with local reggae act Royal Hammer as they throw down some tunes at Local 188 in Portland. Starting at 10 you can full throttle into another week with The Hammer as the get the party raging right around 10 o’clock.
