Check out a free show from Isaiah Bennett at Andy’s Old Port Pub tonight

Written by: Holly Nunan

Congratulations on making it through another Monday unscathed! Celebrate this achievement with some good tunes and good times this Tuesday. Here are some great places to get the party started tonight.

Andy’s Old Port Pub on Commercial Street in Portland welcomes back local singer-songwriter Isaiah Bennett this evening as he performs a set of his own original acoustic pop and funk songs. Things get started at 7 o’clock, so stop through and check it out if you’re in the Old Port tonight.

The Exchange, a weekly open mic event which takes place every Tuesday at The Thirsty Pig in the Old Port, returns tonight. This event is open to any and all musicians looking to collaborate, showcase, and workshop their original material in front of an audience of peers and music-lovers alike. All ages, genres and musical abilities are encouraged to join in on the creative fun as hosts Jim Betts and Joel Thetford gets things started right around 7:30pm.

Don’t miss the Slab’s Solo Tuesday Night Music Series which showcases the solo work of tons of talented local musicians every Tuesday night. Starting at 8:30 you can check out this week’s featured performer Rob Duquette as he goes acoustic and solo for an evening filled with lots of awesome original jams.

Another great open designed for DJs and producers happens at Flask Lounge in Portland this Tuesday. Tonight’s event allows up-and-coming record spinners to take a chance up on the decks alongside veteran DJ Kid Ray. All you gotta bring to participate are some records, CDs and a controller as things get started right at 9 o’clock.
