With another epic weekend under our belts, it’s time to accept the fact that another work week has begun. But it’s not all bad as there’s a ton of cool things to check out to ease the pain of Monday. Here we go!
Singer/songwriter Connor Garvey will be bringing his own brand of acoustic folk-rock-indie-soul music to the Portland Lobster Company deck this evening. Check out Connor and friends as they start busting out some tunes right around 6 tonight.
It should be a great evening to take in some tunes outside on the El Rayo patio in Portland. Tonight they welcome local act the Delta Knights to their outdoor stage for some R&B, blues, soul, funk, swing, rock, jazz and more starting right around 7 o’clock.
Really there’s no need to feel blue because it’s Monday, because instead you can celebrate the fact that you made it through the entire day with some bluegrass and pizza down at Otto on Congress Street. Tonight local picker Joe Walsh and friends will be providing a mighty fine soundtrack to your evening starting right around 8 o’clock.
Down at RiRa on Commercial Street in Portland you’ll find the always-entertaining Mr. Evan Walsh hosting yet another installment of his open mic night that gets underway right around 8 tonight. EvGuy has instruments available for you to play if you want and even if you can’t actually play anything, he’ll be nice enough to help you out by jamming a version of a song for you to sing! Grab some pals, down some liquid courage, and rock that thing out!
Mondays also call for a weekly tradition that takes place every week over at Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge on Preble Street as local funny man Connor McGrath hosts a unique and whimsical night of trivia, stories and laughs. There are giveaways for those who participate in the trivia portion of the evening, so grab a friend or play along by yourself, either way it should be a ton of fun that runs right on through the 10 o’clock hour when 90s night kicks in. Connor and his brother DJ Spencer will be spinning all the best jams from the most awkwardly dressed decade ever. Tonight’s even gets underway at 8 o’clock and is absolutely free, so check it out.
And because I never can say no to an epic dance party, you’ll find me down at The Big Easy in Portland tonight where I plan on treating my funk and soul hole to some quality tunes courtesy of the one and only Model Airplane. Lyle and the fellas are ready to help you rage all night long, so get down and bust a move starting at 9 o’clock this evening.
