We are making some serious strides toward the freakin’ weekend and I know that today is going to be a good day simply because of that fact. There are also a crap ton of shows going on in and around Portland for you to get your Thursday night throw down accomplished easily. Take a gander and then pick one, some or all because thirsty Thursday has got it going on!

I’m hoping that I can drag my old ass out tonight and check out the show taking place at One Longfellow Square in Portland because something tells me it’s not one to be missed if you’re into old school rockabilly as Big Sandy & His Fly Rite Boys will be taking the stage alongside special guests King Memphis. I’m telling ya, it’s going to be a real hoot, so check it out if you’re around town this evening as things get rollin’ promptly at 8 o’clock.

Up in Bangor this evening at the Nocturnem Draft Haus the terrifically energetic and equally entertaining rock n’ roll duo When Particles Collide teams up with one of my favorite Portland acts, The Ghost of Paul Revere for a night of foot-stomping, hip-shaking good times. Be sure to check this one out if you’re in the area tonight. The party starts at 8!
Vinyl Tap will be getting down once again this thirsty Thursday at Gritty’s in the Old Port with their decidedly danceable cover tunes that range from everything such as Cee Lo, Huey Lewis, The Beatles, Stevie Wonder and more.
