No matter what you do tonight, make sure you get out and rock the vote today! It is important and you’ll also get a super sweet sticker to wear out on the town this evening to prove to everyone exactly how awesome you are. So, there’s my political piece for this year. Now, if you’re looking to throw down this Tuesday and forget politics altogether, here are some great places to do so!
The beginning of your Tuesday is filled with lots of stringed things, foot stomping and overall good times as Andy’s Old Port Pub on Commercial Street welcomes back Mountain Emergency for an evening filled with bluegrass music. This free, all-ages event gets underway right around 6pm.
Don’t miss the Thirsty Pig’s open mic event known as The Exchange this evening. The Exchange, which happens each and every Tuesday, is a gathering open to any and all artists looking to collaborate, showcase, and workshop their own original material. All ages, genres and musical abilities are encouraged to join in on the fun with hosts Jim Betts and Joel Thetford as things get swinging right around 7:30.
Boston roots-rockers the Adam Ezra Group will be playing a special show in Scarborough this Tuesday evening at The Brickhouse. Have some fun with these talented fellas as they take to the stage right around 8 o’clock tonight.
One Longfellow Square in Portland continues with it’s stellar Live & Local Music Series tonight. The weekly event brings two local acts to the stage each and every Tuesday for a full evening of awesome Maine made music. This week they welcome disco-punk thrashers Video Nasties and energetic all-girl punk band BABE to the stage for a straight up Tuesday night party that gets shaking right around 8.
Flask Lounge in Portland is hosting another open mic event that is specifically designed for DJs and producers. Tonight’s open mic allows up-and-coming artists to take a chance up on the decks. All you need to participate are some records, CDs and a controller. All formats of music are welcome as music starts spinning around 9 o’clock.
If you’re looking for an awesome, laid back hang this Tuesday make your way to Local 188 on Congress Street in Portland as experimental jazz act Jaw Gems lay down some tunes during tonight’s free shindig. Vibe out as things get underway right around 10.
