Alive at 5 kicks off with The London Souls & Kenya Hall Band tonight in Portland

This week I feel like we are all solid, shining examples of doing it to it as we found ourselves successfully hurdling the hump known as Wednesday to land on our feet right into Thursday. That endeavor deserves a pat on the back, so consider this my virtual pat, pat, pat. Anyway, lots and lots and great stuff happening all around town tonight to help us ease into the freakin’ weekend, so get out there and get some, my babies! Let’s do it to it, it’s Thursday!

The return of Portland Downtown District’s Alive at 5 concert series happens this evening with two phenomenal acts taking over the stage in Monument Square for a free all ages show. I’m pretty certain I don’t need to clue you guys in on who Snoop Dogg is and what he’s all about because it’s a pretty well known fact that he is, without a doubt, The Doggfather, even despite his recent name change to Snoop Lion. All I know is that if my mum had actually heard some of his records that I was listening to in middle school (and beyond) they probably would’ve been confiscated pretty quickly. All that aside, Snoop returns to Portland for a live show at The Expo tonight alongside local emcees Cam Groves and B. Aull. Sip on some gin and juice and get laid back as things get underway right around 6:30 this Thursday evening.
