Cole Farms in Gray will be hosting a free open mic event this Wednesday evening. Grab your instrument of choice and get ready to play some music starting right around 7 o’clock.
Indie rock artist and former Rilo Kiley singer, Jenny Lewis will be at The State Theatre in Portland tonight. Kurt Vile and The Violaters as well as Steve Gunn round out tonight’s rock-based bill. Things get underway at this all ages show right around 8 o’clock.
Over at Bull Feeney’s on Fore Street in Portland you’ll find the Squid Jiggers back once again with some quality folk music that’s perfectly paired with a tall pint of ice, cold beer. The local duo gets things going right around 8 o’clock this Wednesday evening.
The Frog and Turtle in Westbrook welcomes back Ron Gill of local blues act Poke Chop and The Other White Meats for a free blues-based open mic night. The party starts right around 8 and there’s never ever a cover charge so swing through if you’re in the area this evening.
New York indie folk duo The Second Hands will be live at Flask Lounge in Portland tonight. Blues-rock and folk band from Pennsylvania the Hoochie Coochie Men will also be on hand to perform at this free show that gets crankin’ right around 9 o’clock.
It’s going to be poppin’ off once again at The Asylum in Portland where another installment of Rap Night will be highlighting some of the best local hip-hop around this evening. Every Wednesday local rap royalty, Ill By Instinct and El Shupacabra team up to host this weekly party that features some of the dopest emcees and DJs around. Things get fresh starting at 9, so head downtown and check it out.
Two Swedish pop music heavyweights go head-to-head at this week’s Clash of the Titans at the Empire in Portland tonight. Get ready to bust a move out on the dance floor as ABBA takes on Ace of Base. Make sure you see The Sign and transform into the ultimate Dancing Queen as the music starts right around 9:30.
