The Wild & Scenic Film Festival is returning to Portland for the 7th year on Saturday, November 8th starting at 4:00 pm at the Abromson Center on the USM campus.
A excellent menu of nine films, from humorous shorts to entertaining films to inspiring documentaries, awaits, as does free popcorn and other snacks, a cash bar and prize raffles for great stuff.
This annual event benefits Friends of Casco Bay, the leading environmental organization working to improve and protect the environmental health of Casco Bay through education, advocacy, water quality monitoring programs, and collaborative partnerships.
Through the nine awesome films, explorers, scientists, and thrill seekers will be rappelling down waterfalls in British Columbia, surfing winter waves along the Norwegian coast, recreating an expedition to the source of the Nile high in the equatorial mountains of Uganda, and searching for rare amphibians in a South American rain forest. Beyond the exotic places and creatures, the film festival will feature a Maine-made animated film about the mean and green crabs invading a shoreline near you!
It’s going to be fun and entertaining evening for sure, so get your tickets now before they sell out! Maybe see you there…
