National Trails Day, the nation’s biggest celebration of trails, is this Saturday, June 7th. Are you planning to take part in this big day of outdoor fun? Hope so!
According to the American Hiking Society, the primary sponsor, there will be something like 1,000 events going on all around the country, from hikes, biking, horseback rides and paddling trips to bird watching, geocaching, gear demos, stewardship projects and much more.
Here in Maine, at last count there were 15 NTD events happening from Freeport to Frenchman Bay, Rumford to Skowhegan.
