I know you’ve all been waiting to see the reveal of my wedding dress and for months I’ve been excited to share it with you. But now when I look back at my wedding day, it’s all the weird fashion choices that I made that stand out for me.
As I was getting dressed for the big day, I yelled downstairs asking my Mom where my fancy white bridal-y thong was. She claimed it was upstairs. I couldn’t find it. In fact, the only pair of underwear I had with me was the pair I was wearing: pink and gingham. Decidedly unsexy and perhaps not the best style to wear with a wedding gown.
What did I do? I wore a pair of white high-waisted briefs from my Moms drawer.
And I didn’t stress over it.
Yes. You read that right. Exhibit a.
And the final product.
The back tattoos were made by a friend to hand out at our rehearsal dinner, designed from our save-the-date postcards. She made one very special GIANT version for me to wear on my wedding day. Just keeping it real, folks.
Rather than spend a ton of money on wedding shoes or buy a designer pair of heels, I realized walking down the aisle in my favorite pair of Pons would be the best thing I could do.
But I bought them in gold – since they had to be party shoes after all.
My sweet Mother bought me a beautiful robe to wear while I got my makeup done, but in the end, I slipped into yoga pants and a shirt from my husband’s closet. And my sister did too. It was like having a little piece of him with me while I anticipated walking down the aisle.
