Eva Goetz shared her tradition as she “joyfully prayed” then prepared a gift to the gods. The gift, known as a despacho, is then offered to the water gods of South Portland. Goetz is a Peruvian trained, shamanistic energy healer.
“Every day we have the opportunity … to breathe in the light of a new day and this is a gift. It’s such a gift. This is grace,” she said.
