A week ago Shay Stewart-Bouley, blogger behind Black Girl in Maine, sent out a tweet about Spanx that had me in stitches. I’ve asked her to weigh in on shapewear here as she discusses what being wrapped like a sausage feels like — and how to break free of the shapewear bondage!
These freshman students from Bates bring a whole new meaning to the term “looking good together”. They also seem to be friends that either get dressed together in the morning or have friend fashion ESP. And yes I just made up that term. Check out these cuties!
I’m not an insect person in real-life, but they sure do look cute on a t-shirt. I love her casual, weekend attire. Her Rogues Gallery bee (or are those hornets?) v-neck and skirt were purchased at Find — where she also happens to work.
How to transition from cold temperatures to kinda-sorta-warm-weather? That is the question. I interrupted these friends, a CT and Bronx native respectively and former MECA students, so we could all steal a few spring style ideas.
I’m going to excuse the onslaught of less than lovely weather this week simply because I’m hoping all these April showers will really bring the May flowers. Until then – there’s floral leggings.
I love denim shorts which I will also lovingly refer to as “jorts”. I absolutely live in them once summer hits. I think they look good dressed up with heels or dressed down with sandals. When I spotted this pair in town, I thought they might just be the perfect inspiration for an upcoming DIY project.
Nothing makes me more pleased than gently stuffing my down jackets, scarves, mittens and wooly things into a big plastic bin until next year. Godspeed gloves! Farewell fleece! And hello spring jackets.
I was bursting with glee when I spotted this sweet MECA student, a Connecticut native (tri-state pride!) walking down Congress Street with some sizable stems. I haven’t seen someone carrying fresh flowers in so long that I’m certain this is a sign that winter is gone and spring is here. Officially.
