Spotted on the street: our first real snow!
There was a lot of discussion when Travel + Leisure named Portland one of the worst dressed cities in America. When the article came out, Rob Caldwell and I got in a debate about it – though he did bring up a good point: could it be that we were on the list because it’s cold six months out of the year? One would argue that it’s near impossible to look chic in snow, slush, sleet and near freezing temps.
I plan on putting a stop to all that nonsense this winter, while I continue to chronicle people out in the snow that look as put-together as this Mainer. Half the battle of looking good in the cold are the right accessories. I adored her vintage fur topper (a gift from her hubby) and her oversized chunky knit scarf. And who says we need to be limited to just Bean Boots in the snow? When treated correctly, you can wear your favorite leather pair in any weather.
