L.L. Bean gets into the holiday spirit earlier than most with its tree lighting ceremony at the flagship store at 6:45 p.m. on Nov. 16. The events continue through the end of the year.
Kora Shriners FEZtival of Trees | Nov. 17-24
11 Sabattus St., Lewiston
This 6th annual event is a fundraiser for the Shriners and more than 60 decorated tress, plus a craft fair and silent auction are expected. Check the schedule for Santa’s visit from the North Pole.
Waterville Parade of Lights | Nov. 23
Downtown Waterville
Dozens of floats will light up Main Street from 6 to 8 p.m. Santa arrives to help light the tree in Castonguay Square.
Brunswick Tree Lighting Festival and Santa Visit | Nov. 23
The Mall, Brunswick
Santa and Frosty will be on hand to share in the hot chocolate and cookies during the event from 5 to 7 p.m. Also a community sing.
Portland Annual Tree Lighting | Nov. 23
Monument Square, Portland
Santa arrives on a fire truck to assist with the tree lighting. Also musical entertainment and free horse-drawn wagon rides. Event begins at 5:30 p.m.
Rockland Festival of Lights Celebration | Nov. 23-25
Downtown Rockland
Santa arrives Friday by Coast Guard boat to light the famous Lobster Trap Tree. Enjoy cookies and cocoa, holiday music and horse-drawn carriage rides. Saturday features a parade and gingerbread houses on Main Street.
Country Christmas in Bethel | Nov. 23-Dec. 24

Most events happen on weekends, including Craft & Wares Fair on Nov. 23, Jingle Bell Run and tree lighting on Dec. 1 and Santa Sunday at Sunday River on Dec. 2.

Find dozens of decorated trees and wreaths with the them of “Olden Times and Ancient Rhymes” from “A Charlie Brown Christmas at the event that is free and open to the public.” Kickoff party takes place Nov. 30.

Festivities are from 5 to 7 p.m. with the lights going on at 6 p.m. Also listen to the York High Chamber Singers and watch the United Divers of New Hampshire raise their lighted tree from the ocean.

Santa arrives for photos at 11:30 a.m. and parade and tree lighting take place at 3 p.m.

Volunteers will collect food items for Gorham Food Pantry during the parade, which starts at 4 p.m. Tree lighting takes place at 4:30 p.m.
