PORTLAND – Caviar, long considered one of the world’s greatest delicacies, will be the star of the evening on Friday, October 26 at the annual Caviar Dinner at Eve’s at the Garden at the Portland Harbor Hotel, 468 Fore St.
The world of caviar, its varied flavors, textures and regions, will be explored as part of a four-course dinner, with wine pairings. Tickets are available through Brown Paper Tickets and are $120 per person, including the wine pairings, tax and gratuity.
The Caviar Dinner begins with a reception at 6:30 pm. New this year, a Browne Trading Caviar Service table will allow attendees to taste and learn about the evening’s select caviar.
Renowned caviar importer and expert Rod Mitchell, owner of Browne Trading Co., will be on hand during the dinner to provide an expert introduction to the caviars. Erica Archer of Wine Wise will introduce the wines.
The dinner features a wide variety of seafood and caviar pairings. The reception begins with Pemaquid oysters with asparagus creme, slow onions and Siberian caviar, a panini bite with ricotta, lobster and Galilee Osetra caviar and chick pea bruscetta with tomato jam and Spoonbill caviar in addition to the Browne Trading Service table. The tapas style four course dinner features White Sturgeon, Imperial Gold and Hackleback caviars.
