New Year’s Eve Music Events: Ring in 2015 with Live Music

WPOR Presents Jack Daniel’s New Years Eve Ramblin’ Revival with North of Nashville, Sly~Chi and Joe Gallant & The Transit

9 p.m. Wednesday. Asylum, 121 Center St., Portland. $15 to $35, 21-plus show,
Check in at the Asylum for a night of honky-tonk country, roots, funk, blues and more as three bands take to the stage. You can sample Jack Daniels Honey Whiskey and wait for the clock to strike twelve.

New Year’s Eve with Peter Wolf

9 p.m. Wednesday. Stone Mountain Arts Center, 695 Dugway Road, Brownfield. $85, includes Champagne toast.
Ring in 2015 with the larger-than-life musician Peter Wolf, best known for his work as singer of the J. Geils Band while also creating a new body of work over the past several years. The evening is billed as the “Squirrel It Away Concert” as some of the proceeds will benefit the Stone Mountain Arts Center.

Ghost of Paul Revere with Spencer Albee and Dark Hallow Bottling Company

9 p.m. Wednesday. Port City Music Hall, 504 Congress St., Portland. $15 in advance, $20 day of show, $40 preferred seating, 18-plus.
Leave 2014 behind with holler folk and epic three-part harmonies from The Ghost of Paul Revere. New tunes from Spencer Albee and some Americana, bluegrass, folk, rock and pop sounds from Dark Hollow Bottling Company will be part fo the show, too.

Clash: New Year’s Eve: 90s R&B versus Disco

10 p.m. Wednesday. Empire, 575 Congress St., Portland. $10, 21-plus,
The Clash of the Titans series ends 2014 on a very high note as 90s R&B takes on disco. Local music super-groups will hit you with their best along the lines of TLC, Fugees, Kool and the Gang, Donna Summer and, well…the sky’s the limit with this very special Clash. The party rages until 2 a.m..
