MAMM SLAM is back.
Registration is now open for MAMM SLAM 2015, Maine’s hottest high school battle of the band, put on by The Maine Academy of Modern Music (MAMM). This year, MAMM is teaming up with freezingprocess.net, a podcast about Maine music hosted by local musicians Trent Gay and Kevin Kennie and featuring guests from all walks of musical life.
The MAMM SLAM allows teen bands and solo performers (singer/songwriters and DJ’s) to compete in showcasing their songwriting, performance skills, web presence, marketing and other aspects of being a professional touring and recording musician.
Winners have a crack at $1000, sponsored by the Rusty Rocket Foundation, along with coveted recording time, radio appearances, plum gigs, a tour of Gateway Mastering, and professional marketing direction. Freezingprocess.net will oversee the judging of the competition.
The preliminary round will be held on April 11 at Bayside Bowl in Portland and the finals are May 9 at Asylum in Portland.
