I am here to ease any pain you may have about the fact that Labor Day Weekend is pounding on the door and that autumn proper is not far behind it.
First off, there’s still plenty of flip-flop weather so let’s not freak out. Keep those pedicures fresh.
September is a glorious month. Sometimes the days are supremely summery, other times they have notes of crispness as the leaves start to contemplate their annual color change.
Let’s listen to some songs shall we?
Here are some tunes I’ve rounded up that I love and are about, sort of, summer ending and autumn starting and stuff like that.
Rock on. And keep those sweaters in the back of the closet…for the moment.
“The End of the Summer” by Dar Williams
“Summer’s End” by Sinead O’Connor and Ashtar Command ( I LOVE this song sooooo much!)
“September Morn” by Neil Diamond. If you don’t love this song, at least a little bit, I just don’t know if I can handle it
“Wake Me Up When September Ends” by Greenday. I’m a total sucker for this song.
“October” by U2. Yeah I’m jumping a gun a bit with this one. But it’ll be here in about five minutes if we’re gonna be honest.
“Autumn in New York” by Frank Sinatra. Just because.
“Pale September” by Fiona Apple. Because it’s Fiona Apple.
“Autumn” from Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” so that we can all take a moment and breathe…
