Purple Brainz: A Halloween Tribute to Prince & Madonna…With a VERY special guest!

Wow, people. Just wow!

I am over the moon about the Red Sox and since we won last night YOU ARE FREE tonight to see what will no doubt be a crazy awesome night of music at Empire.

Things kick off with a set of seven Madonna classics led by local singer Renee Coolbrith. She’ll be channeling – and unleashing- her inner material girl backed by an all-star band of local rock stars.

But wait, there’ s more, soooo much more.

The host of the night is Rob from WCYY and he’ll be spinning 80s hits between sets and hello, of course there’s a huge Halloween Costume Contest.

But are you ready for the best part of all?

The treat of this Halloween will be a two-hour tribute to a 1986 Prince concert with Dean Ford playing the role of Prince. I saw Ford as Prince at last year’s Halloween’s “Clash of the Titans” and he and the band were jaw-dropping good.

Check this Tom Couture photo out of Coolbrith and Ford.

But there’s still more!

Ford sent a tweet to a guy named Dr. Fink in Minneapolis. He asked him if he, per chance, was available on Halloween to play keys during the Prince tribute set here in Portland, ME.

Fink said yes.

Why is this awesome?

THIS IS DR. FINK: (real name Matthew Robert “Matt” Fink)

Does he look familiar to you?

That’s right, ladies and gentleman, Dr. Fink is the ORIGINAL keys player from the Revolution. As in Prince and the Revolution. In other words, he was the keys playey for THIS GUY:

AND HE’S PLAYING IN PORTLAND TONIGHT with Dean Ford and the band.

Can you stand it?

I said

WHEN: Tonight! Halloween 9 p.m.
