Five Songs of Summer just because I feel like it

Written by: Aimsel Ponti

Happy August 13. Don’t panic about summer being over.

There’s plenty left so let’s all take a deep breath and bask in the sound of five summer related songs I’ve rounded up.

Aimsel on the Beach

What are some of your favorite summer-y songs? Let me know in the comments.

1. “Summer in the City” by Regina Spektor. I adore Regina although I can no longer listen to her theme song for “Orange is the New Black.” I just can’t…

2. “Summer Wind” by Frank Sinatra. And hey, here’s a lyric video so you can sing along with old blue eyes.

3. “Summertime” by The Sundays. A true 90s gem.

4. “Nightswimming” by R.E.M. Makes me think of late night  summer skinny dipping which I haven’t actually done. At least not yet. Either way, I love this song so much.

5. “Mimi on the Beach” by Jane Siberry.  Because Jane Siberry is among the most brilliant songwriters ever in the history of the world. In my opinion.
