Where to see fireworks on the 4th

You can find the rocket’s red glare everywhere from Ogunquit to Carrabassett Valley.

Here’s a list of Fourth of July celebrations and fireworks displays around the state:

BATH – Various activities and performances at the Library Park and Waterfront Park, including the Bath Municipal Band concert at 8 p.m. and fireworks over the Kennebec River at 9 p.m. 442-7291.

BELGRADE LAKES – Daylong celebration at various locales including music, food and children’s games, followed by a fireworks display around 9:15 p.m. over Long Pond.

BETHEL – Community picnic and concert, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 13 Broad St., will feature an outdoor concert by the Portland Brass Quintet. Bring your lunch. Bethel Historical Society. 824-2908.

BOOTHBAY HARBOR – Fireworks over the harbor at 9 p.m.

CAMDEN – Music by the Sea at Camden Harbor Park and Amphitheatre, Atlantic Avenue. Performances from 2 to 7:45 p.m. Rain venue is Camden Opera House. Fireworks over the harbor at 9 p.m. 236-4404

CARRABASSETT VALLEY – Independence Day events include swimming at noon, children’s activities from 3 to 5 p.m., a band concert starting at 4 p.m. and fireworks at the Carrabassett Valley Airport on Route 27 starting at about 9:15 p.m. 235-2645.

FREEPORT – Independence Day is the kick-off for L.L. Bean’s annual Summer in the Park celebration, featuring a road race and fun run at 7:30 a.m. and 9:15 a.m.; a parade on Main Street starting at 10 a.m.; and a free concert by David Mallett and The Mallett Brothers Band at 7:30 p.m. at L.L. Bean Discovery Park on Morse Street. Fireworks start about 9 p.m. (877) 755-2326.

KENNEBUNK – Fireworks at dusk at Kennebunk Beach, Beach Avenue. Rain date Tuesday.

NEW GLOUCESTER – Public Reading of the Declaration of Independence at 9 a.m. at New Gloucester History Barn, 383 Intervale Road at Route 231.

OGUNQUIT – Fireworks at the Main Beach on Beach Street at 9:15 p.m. A local DJ will play music prior to the fireworks. 646-2939.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH – The annual parade at Ocean Park starts at 10 a.m. at 4 Temple Ave., followed by two concerts of patriotic music at 6 p.m. at the Seaside Pavilion on 6th Street in Old Orchard Beach and a 9:45 p.m. fireworks display on the main beach.

PORTLAND – Patriotic pops concert at 7:40 p.m. with the Portland Symphony Orchestra and special guest artist Melissa Manchester at Eastern Promenade Park, followed by fireworks over Casco Bay from Portland’s East End Promenade at 9:20 p.m. Food vendors will be on site. Rain date is Tuesday. 321-5550.

SANFORD – The Maine Attraction Water Ski Show team will perform at 6:30 p.m. at Number One Pond, at Riverside and Emery roads, followed by fireworks at dusk.

SOUTH PORTLAND – Third annual Family Fourth at Bug Light Park, featuring activities, food vendors and a concert by The Delta Knights from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. followed by fireworks at about 9:15 p.m. (rain date Tuesday).

SOUTHWEST HARBOR – Fireworks at dusk at the warterfront. 244-9264.

THOMASTON – Daylong events starting with a pancake breakfast at the Masonic Hall, craft tent, pet show, parade, chicken barbecue, food and vendor booths, dunk tank, games for kids, bouncy houses, horseshoe tournament, musical entertainment and fireworks at dusk. 354-8763, 354-6440. 596-0069.

WINSLOW – Fireworks over Fort Halifax Park at dusk.

WINTHROP – Fireworks at 9 p.m. at Norcross Point at the south end of Maranacook Lake. 377-8020.

WISCASSET – Fireworks at 9 p.m. on the lower ballfield of Wiscasset Middle School, 83 Federal St. 380-6500.

WOOLWICH – Fireworks at 9 p.m. Tuesday ► July 5 ◄ at the Reed & Reed lot at 275 River Road.

YORK – Fireworks at 9 p.m. at Short Sands Beach.

YORK HARBOR — Fireworks at 9 p.m. at York Beach.
