Just because it was not a snowy winter doesn’t mean we can’t celebrate the warmer weather moving into town. We told you about Red’s Dairy in South Portland opening a few weeks ago. Fat Boys in Brunswick opened recently as well.

But our social feeds are reporting lots of other milestone spring events just around the corner. Pier fries, free ice cream anyone?

Pier Fries

Don’t forget about free cone day in Freeport!

Free Cone Day is coming April 12th! So close, you can almost taste the FREE ice cream.

There may be a delay by a week or two but Maine drive ins are gearing up for opening weekend.

We’re setting our sights for Friday April 8th for opening weekend.** Please keep in mind this date is not set in stone. It all depends how quickly the grounds firm up for vehicle traffic.**

Of course, not everywhere (like on the summit of Mount Washington) is looking like spring. We still have a more warming up to do (and some snow to get through this weekend)… but the signs are everywhere that it won’t be much longer now before the trails and the sunshine warm up our days!

Good morning from the summit of Mount Washington! It’s hard to believe that at this time yesterday, winds were gusting…
