How anyone can pull off a crop top

My favorite Maine stylist Ashley Jordan weighs in on the biggest trend of the summer: the crop top. You don’t need washboard abs to pull it off either. Here’s how to rock a crop.

-Always pair your crop top with something high waisted. Make sure it’s a high rise that hits at the smallest part of your waist. Keep your belly button covered.
-Crops come in all shapes and sizes! Try them with long or short sleeves if you’re showing less skin on the bottom. If you are wearing pants or anything maxi, crop tanks are okay.
-Add a layer. Covering up more skin will make the small amount you are showing at your midriff seem like less of a big deal.
-Tie something around your waist. Ashley uses this trick for anyone looking to disguise the belly area, not just for crop tops. If you tie at your waist, the sleeves should cover up the ‘belly area’ that hides most ladies least favorite body part. It is also useful in styling any outfit (shortening the length, changing the waist line).
-Think of proportions: a more voluminous bottom calls for a smaller top and vise versa.Try any of these crop tops from some local shops to get in on the trend: 1 / 2 / 3
You can check in with Ashley’s tips all the time on her personal style blog Sweet William. Thanks Ash!
