Laura Serino

After visiting Maine only a handful of times, Laura Serino packed up her studio apartment in New York City and headed north for "the way life should be." After a summer on North Haven island, she and her boyfriend, a Maine native, settled in Portland, Maine. Serino is a former magazine editor who has been published in national and regional publications. When she isn't blogging, she spends her time antiquing, scouring thrift shops, exploring new places in Maine and cozying up to her cat Jasper. She recently completed her first book, "Twentysomething Girl, 1001 Quick Tips and Tricks to Make Your Life Easier." Reach her at info@forefrontfashion.com Follow her: @ForeFrontFash

A night of free clothes, cocktails and giving back

Free clothes? Check. Being forced to clean out some of your closet? Check. Cocktails? Check. The ability to also get some holiday shopping done? Check. Do you still need more reasons to go to Swap Maine’s Holiday Soiree on December 5th?

The ladies of Swap Maine (and yes, that includes me) have been hard at work planning a stress-free shopping event before the realities of the holidays (fruit cake! reindeer! removing toys from plastic packaging!!!) kick in. ¬†Tickets to get in are $20 and spaces are limited. If you’ve been to a Swap Maine event before, you know it can be chaotic. This event allows you to sip and swap at your leisure. There’s no need to clean off a rack, try on clothes and then do it all over again. You’ll be guaranteed to leave this event with 5 items you really, truly love. And you only have to bring 5. It’s just too easy.

There’s even been a few sneak peeks as to what types of clothes you can expect to find like a vintage Pendleton dress, a Dooney & Bourke bag and a TON OF VINTAGE JEWELRY that you won’t want to miss.

Questions about the event? Tweet them to @SWAPMaine!
