Maine’s Baxter Brewing turning 3: Celebrations ensue

Baxter Brewing of Lewiston, the all-cans-all-the-time Maine brewery, celebrates its third anniversary this month. Naturally, this is cause for a couple of parties. Baxter’s motto: “We Do What We Can. We Can What We Do.” What you can do is get in on the good times.

Open House

Saturday, Jan 18 | 130 Mill St., Lewiston | noon-4 pm
Baxter opens its doors for tours of the brewery and the release of its anniversary beer, a limited edition imperial Hefeweizen, On the Count of 3 — the first Baxter beer to be available in 4-packs. The festivities include food from Pinky D’s Food Truck, music by Jacob McCurdy, cornhole and giant baked soft pretzels.

3rd Anniversary Party

Saturday, Jan. 25 | 504 Congress St., Portland | 7  pm | $10 in advance; $12 day of show
Baxter founder Luke Livingston and his crew will storm Portland for an anniversary party with Spose and The Mallet Brothers at Port City Music Hall. Also on the bill are Sly Chi and Dave Rowe, with a DJ spinning between sets. Baxter beers will be on tap, including the new, On the Count of 3 anniversary release.
