Plenty of people spent the long weekend mulching their flower beds, planting gardens or touching up the landscaping. Plenty of other decided to take the easy way out, strolling through some of the 250 acres that make up Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay.
The gardens were free throughout the long weekend for anyone showing a valid Maine driver’s license and both Mainers and tourists took advantage.
Usual admission to the gardens is $14 for adults. The venue is open 9 am to 5 pm year-round.
Currently on view: Tulips in every color imaginable – and much, much more.
