I think that the fondest Memory of Christmas was the last Christmas with my Grandmother. She was 93 years old and she was Christmas! Even as a child it was never about gifts but she never said that. She always brought to the forefront what Christmas was about..Family, Being together! The food that she made will never be able to be duplicated...she just had a way. Our last Christmas with her, Our whole family was there, and I remember watching her as she sat in her chair watching all of her great grandchildren playing, listening as we shared past Christmas memories and because she was so frail it was hard to hear her so when she wanted to speak we all shushed...I was sitting next to her and she grabbed my hand and whispered to me..."Watching all of these kids is what Christmas is all about, its not about the gifts, the food, Its about Jesus, with the help of Santa to bring everyone together and for a day, forget about anything bad and cherish what you have. Cherish your children and the memories" This came from a woman born in 1905 who was brought up very poor but was rich in wisdom! She taught me alot!

Our holiday pastime is chosing and decorating our Christmas tree. My husband's birthday is mid December so we usually go out on his birthday to get our tree - fortunately we normally agree within 10 minutes which one is "the tree" for us! Once home, we go through the procedure of setting the tree up - many years ago this would be a bucket with pebbles collected from the beach. However, we upgraded to a tree stand and apart from having to use a nail in the wall to tie the tree upright, we manage to get it up and steady, ready for decorating. Our older boys head up into the attic to collect the ornaments and our younger daughter searches for "her" ornaments. We talk about the ornaments and who gave them to us, and the memories they bring back. When we are done we sit back to enjoy the best tree we've ever had - yes, we say that each year!

We are a family of pranksters. One Christmas my then fiance bought a fake lottery ticket. After much deliberating as to the person least likely to blow their stack when they found the ticket was worthless, we put it in my middle son's stocking. As he was scratching off the numbers, we were trying to keep straight faces. When he came to the last number and saw he was the apparent winner of $10,000, he went nuts. He was shouting .."Santa Claus is coming to town!" "Someone tell me I didn't just win $10,000." Well, he eventually realized he had been had, but each Christmas since, we pull out the old line .. "Santa Claus is coming to town" and we ALL know what that means!

When I was a little girl I was a Ballet and Tap dancer and when I became a mother to 3 daughters, I let my dream live thru them, they have danced since they were 3 and 4 years old, they have competed in the regionals in Mass as well as nationlly and internationally in New York City. They are now 29, 28 and 18 and for about 5 years now we have been going to the Nutcracker, it has given us a chance to bond with and watch the dancers perform and to see the delightful looks on their faces, I know my Dream came true and my wish of all 3 daughters was granted....
