Hospitals cover beds with blue wrap, but Judy is one of several artists creating fashion out of the junk. It’s to benefit a South Portland-based nonprofit that collects medical waste and ships it to countries that could use it.

Wowza! A whopping $72,803 was raised during the 10th annual STRIVE Rocks Dance Marathon at The Maine Mall in South Portland. The event ran all night – from 9 pm Saturday to 9 am Sunday, March 2, and was filled with high-energy dancing, zumba, costumes, inflatable slides, and some impressive dance moves.

Being a “Santa believer” never lasts. One minute we’re falling asleep at our bedroom window listening for the sound of hooves on the roof and the next minute we’re rolling our eyes at every hint of the holidays because it’s all a big commercial scam anyway.

But if we could get a little bit of that holiday magic back, wouldn’t we want to? And if we could give it to someone else – someone small who hasn’t stopped believing yet – shouldn’t we? Yes and yes.
