Two pop princesses battle it out at the Clash of the Titan’s tonight at the Empire
What up, Wednesday?! I am pumped to see you and hurdle this hump so that I can glide on in to my weekend stride. Per usual there’s a bunch of fun stuff to check out, so let’s do it to it, my babies!
If you’re looking to play some tunes tonight in the Portland area, be sure to head on over to the Dogfish Bar & Grille on Free Street where you can check out an installment of this week’s free, acoustic open mic with singer-songwriter Matt Fournier. Grab your instrument and get ready to play some tunes as this evening’s event gets underway right around 7 o’clock.
Lorraine Bohland and Terry Foster team up this evening to infuse your Wednesday with some jazz, blues and R&B classics down at Gingko Blue on Fore Street in the Old Port. Check out this talented pair of musicians as they provide the soundtrack to your midweek wind down starting right around 7 o’clock.
Local acoustic duo, Uke n’ Smile, will be hosting their monthly open mic night over at the Frog & Turtle in Westbrook this evening. Beginning at 8 o’clock all reasonably capable musicians are more than welcome to play some tunes or you can come and sing and the fellas in Uke n’ Smile will play the music for you. It’s free, fun and yummy drinks and food are available as well, so if you’re in the area tonight, be sure to stop by and check it out.
Some more open mic action will be happening over at Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge on Preble Street in Portland where you can check out local musicians do their thing or even sign up to play some songs of your own. Each Wednesday evening starting right around 8, local singer-songwriter Dustin Saucier hosts this free and fun event.
The battle for the pop princess crown will be taking place on stage at the Empire on Congress Street in Portland tonight as this week’s edition of The Clash of the Titans pits Katy Perry against Rihanna. Are Katy’s Fireworks a match for RiRi’s Umbrella? Find out tonight, as things get underway right around 9 o’clock.
It’s going to get rhymetastic over at The Big Easy in Portland tonight where another installment of Rap Night goes down starting at 9 o’clock this evening. Every Wednesday at Rap Night is always a helluva time and wicked cheap, dude; $3 at the door gets you in to one epic party featuring some of local hip-hops heaviest hitters, so check it out.
