I gotta be truthful with you guys and say that I’ve had Friday on my mind since Sunday evening, so I am more than ready and rip-roaring to tear things up tonight! Luckily there’s more than enough awesome things to check out, so let’s do this thing!

Brisk is definitely an understatement when describing the weather, but if you’re a diehard skier or snowboarder and find yourself up at Sunday River this afternoon be sure to swing through The Foggy Goggle around 3 o’clock to warm up with some tunes courtesy of singer-songwriter Jordan Kaulback.

If you find yourself waaay up north this evening, I mean like, in The County, then be sure to check out a great show that’s happening at Eureka Hall Restaurant in Stockholm. Tonight starting at 6:30 the fellas from Tricky Britches will be playing some of their old timey, roots/bluegrass tunes that’ll get your feet stomping and your face smiling. These talented dudes will be serving up their own brand of back porch jam session bluegrass all evening long, starting with an opening set from singer-songwriter Travis Cyr, so check it out if you’re up that way this Friday.

Tonight’s event gets underway at 7 o’clock and will feature live performances from MacLir, Trisha Mason Band, Bobbi Lane, and The Crown Vics. There’ll also be an auction happening all evening long and all proceeds from the event will be donated to this great cause to keep local Mainers warm this winter.

The local music scene is one of the most kind-hearted and generous I’ve ever known and that fact becomes even clearer tonight Maine musicians and comedians come together to raise money for Brittany Riley, a local woman who is currently battling a very rare form of bone cancer, as they present Buds for Brittany upstairs at the Empire in Portland. Starting at 8 o’clock the event will feature performances from The Mallett Brothers Band, Kilcollins, and Dhamma Lion as well as stand-up sets from Paul Hunt, Nick Lavallee and Ian Stuart. All money raised will go towards helping Brittany pay for her medical costs.

Cory Gunz of Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment makes a stop in Maine tonight as he performs alongside a long list of other hip-hop aficionados at Club Texas in Auburn. Starting at 8 you can check out sets from not only Cory Gunz, but Flotilla 13, Sig Music, B-Fenom, Conman, Glease, Miss Lady, Northern Lights and many, many more.

Mayo Street Arts in Portland will be getting a solid dose of the rock and/or roll tonight as they welcome Bath Salts, I Suppose You Know Karate and Nuclear Bootz to the stage for a full night of music. Things get crankin’ right around 8 o’clock.
