I am very intimidated by men that dress better than me and Dustin Otto, who works at Portland Dry Goods, happens to be one of those guys. Portland Dry Goods remains one of my favorite destinations for menswear and high-quality wares in Portland. Meet Dustin and see where he likes to go for beer, brunch and a good book.
So Monday was actually surprisingly less painful than I had anticipated and I hope it was the same for all you cats as well. Luckily it looks like Tuesday’s shaping up to be pretty decent too. I know it’s still fairly early in the week, but there’s always a party going on somewhere around town tonight, so get it together and check it out!
May and June are the months for tag sales. If you've yet to try my favorite summer sport known as "garage sale-ing" then you've come to the right place. I'm a self-professed pro thanks to a Mother that has dragged me to them since I was in diapers. Here are some ways to hit the tag sale circuit to scour other peoples trash in search of some treasures.
I’m going to try and keep this weekend’s momentum rolling right on through today so that way this Monday won’t seem so bad. It’s called denial and I’ll let you know how it works out. In the meantime, here are the haps for tonight.
Every project has its beginning and its end. It's an adventure to see the design process to its end point through each challenge and inspiration. Chuck Lakin, a woodworker and home funeral educator, has this attitude for his craft and for his life. Meet Chuck.
All right, mothahuggas, I’m pretty sure you don’t need me to tell you what day it is, but just know that it is time to bust out your fanciest Party Pants and get on down this evening. Personally I will be pre-gaming in Lewiston this evening, playing on a flat bed truck with a classic rock cover band to raise some funds for those affected by the fires.
Caitlin Pierce is the popular fashion blogger behind Wore Out, a Burlingtonian style blog. She weighs in on fashion in the 207, why she insists on living in VT and answers the question: are Mainers more fashionable than Vermonters? I think we all know the answer to that one...
Ahhhh, we are so close that I can almost taste the copious amounts of vodka I will be indulging in this weekend. Granted I will probably start ingesting some amount of vodka this evening, but you get my point. Anyway, without fail Thursday brings the thunder so throw on those Party Jorts and get ready to boogie.
Food trucks have achieved an almost annoying ubiquity. So, it's very refreshing to learn of The Sketchbook Project, a traveling, crowd-sourced art project operating out of a custom-built "bookmobile."
Until very recently, I'd never heard of Nordstrom Rack. For those of you who aren't familiar, it's an off-price division of Nordstrom with a collection of clearance items from Nordstrom stores. I got to swing by last night before the big grand opening tomorrow. Here's a sneak peek!
