This weekend’s hottest ticket? Ice Bar in Brunswick!
I had a chance to visit the Inn at Brunswick Station’s Ice Bar last night, and the experience was one full of AMAZING cocktails (hello, Wolfberry Lemonade!), mind-blowing ice sculptures, and the friendliest hotel and bar staff I’ve met in a long time. Before last night, I had no idea that this hotel was the classy and hospitable place it is. More importantly–and I hesitate to mention it for fear word will get around too fast–I found what I am sure will be my new favorite outdoor patio for lazy summer afternoons.
The outdoor Ice Bar is where the signature cocktail magic happens, and for you cold-averse friends, it’s just outside the doors of the Inn’s cozy tavern as well as The Robinson Room, a large reception area with a full bar. The Inn has a heated tent set up on the patio with tables full of nibbles available throughout the night. Tonight, a DJ will be spinning tunes until 10:00 and if live music is more your thing, tomorrow night will be the time to hit the scene, with Scotty and the Big Dogs hitting the stage at 7:00.
My girlfriends and I had plans to hit the pub in Hallowell tonight, but I’m not gonna lie: I may try to convince them that a trip to Brunswick is a better idea.
Tickets are $12 at the door, but I’d recommend clicking over to Brown Paper Tickets and getting yours in advance for $10. It’s a busy weekend at Bowdoin this weekend, so you might as well make sure you’ve got a ticket to the (coldest) hottest event in Brunswick.

Erin Dow
Erin Dow is a caterer who used to cook for rock stars. Now she finds herself desperately trying to persuade her three kids to just try one bite of what she made for dinner. She's the Expert Chef for Maine-based Guiding Stars® and she consults with the state's public schools on how to serve healthy whole foods that kids will actually eat. And when Erin’s not researching, preparing, serving, photographing, teaching, or writing about food, you’ll probably find her in a restaurant eating a meal cooked by someone else. So she just might be the girl you need to know if you're looking for recommendations, advice, or insight into Maine's food scene. She's also very knowledgeable about firearms, in case you were wondering if she's a real Mainer.// From Twitter
