The Maine Dish
Brussels sprouts addiction? Here are the top 5 places to OD in Portland.
I’ve “hurt myself” a few times with the Brussels sprouts at Boda on Congress Street, but the effects were only a temporary case of cotton mouth from all of the nước mắm that gives them their irresistible salty-savory allure.
I’ve never, however, required medical attention like the man from Scotland I read about last week who actually overdosed on Brussels sprouts, apparently a result of an interaction between the high levels of Vitamin K and a medication he was taking. I gotta say, though, if the end was nigh because I ate one too many plates of awesomeness from any of the following places, I’d be okay with it. They really are to die for.

Try Gaby Dalkin’s recipe for lemon roasted Brussels sprouts if you’re into doing it yourself. It’s one of my favorites.
1: Boda: fried and seasoned.
2. Pai men Miyake: tamari and fish sauce.
3. Walter’s: sesame oil and soy
4. Duckfat: salad of chopped Brussels sprouts, parmesan, apple, pickled leek, romaine lettuce, & herb vinaigrette.
5. Rí Rà Irish Pub: roasted with pancetta and apple
