Day #2: How To Save Money on Eating Out
Ok, in this day in age it’s inevitable that you are going to find yourself single on a Friday night, in your pajamas watching The Notebook (again!) and find yourself wondering where Mr. or Mrs. Right is. Then you’ll hear flashbacks of your best friend, mom or aunt encouraging you to join a dating site. It seems like everyone knows someone who has met online. So you get yourself up off the couch, pour yourself a glass of wine and hit the net in search of true love. Maybe you are just looking or maybe you’re ready to get serious, either way, I wanted to talk about whether you should join a site that charges you a monthly fee or a free site.
I HATE spending money on things I don’t need (or even when I do need them) but, I do support spending money on investments…and your love, your life and your future family are definitely worth investing in. So I fully support paying to join a dating site…and here’s why:
1. Put Your Money Where Your Mouth is! If members are actively paying a monthly fee to belong to a dating site then, in my opinion, they are taking their love life far more serious than some random dude who is slapping up a free profile.
2. Your Potential Date CAN actually afford to pay to have his/her profile here. I don’t want no scrubs, nuff said
3. More sophisticated matching technology: Sites like eHarmony, for example, have spent lots of money researching personality types and have developed their own survey/questionnaire which helps match you to people that you share common interests and goals with. This makes finding a good match a lot easier and helps you to avoid all those awkward first date questions.
Now listen, at the end of the day, it’s still a crap shoot. But if you are going to join a dating site, I want you to know that I fully support you paying to belong. Plus, you can always look for a coupon code or join during a free weekend!
Your Turn…what do you think about dating sites that require a fee to join?
