One of the most important aspects of couponing is knowing when and where to use your coupons. Today, I’m going to share with you why it’s somtimes more advantageous to have a $.75 off coupon over a $1.00 coupon.
Did you know that Shaws Supermarkets doubles coupons under $1.00 everyday, all day? Best part is that you don’t even have to do anything! Just give the cashier your coupons and the cash register will automatically double any coupon under $1.00. Awesome right? So that means if you have a $.75 off coupon, it will automatically take off $1.50 your total. But, if you have a $1.00 off coupon, it will stay at $1.00 off. So for this reason, I like to take all of my $.75 off coupons over to Shaws, and save my $1.00 off coupons for Hannaford or Walmart, which do NOT double coupons
Here are a few more facts about the Shaws double coupon policy:
1. Double all coupons up to $.99 (Ex. If you have a $.99 coupon, it will double to $1.98 off)
2. $1.00 coupons stay at $1.00 off
3. Double up to (4) of the same coupon in a single transaction
1. Coupons that say Do Not Double, will not be doubled
Bonus Tip: Be sure to wait for a sale on the item you are buying to maximize your savings!
