Your last chance to funk it out this Monday at the final Players Ball at The Big Easy

Not that I am admitting defeat, but Monday’s been kicking my ass all day long. It seems that with each passing weekend, I become more and more adverse to the idea of acting my age and taking responsibility for my bad decisions, so much so that I get booted in the ass when Monday makes its way to town.  Any who, here’s how this Monday evening is shaping up! Do it to it. Do not admit defeat!

The theme for early this evening seems to be focused around stringed instruments, good times, and toe tapping as there are two separate bluegrass jams to check out starting with the Jerks of Grass out on the deck of the Portland Lobster Company on Commercial Street in Portland. These talented cats will be providing a stellar soundtrack for your Monday evening starting right around 6.

No need to feel blue because it’s Monday, instead celebrate the fact that you made it through the day with some bluegrass and pizza down at Otto on Congress Street where Joe Walsh and friends will be providing a mighty fine soundtrack to your evening beginning at 8 o’clock.

A Monday night tradition continues this evening at Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge on Preble Street as local laugh master, Connor McGrath hosts a unique and whimsical night of trivia. There will be plenty of free giveaways on hand and you can play with yourself, some friends or even someone ya don’t know. Anyway, it should be a lot of fun followed by the one and only 90s dance party with Connor and his DJing brother Spencer. Check it out as things get started around 8. It’s absolutely free and guaranteed to make your Monday less mundane.

Pete Witham & The Cozmik Zombies will be taking over The Pier Patio Pub in Old Orchard Beach with their own brand of twisted Americana/rockabilly. These fellas always know how to have a good time by playing some seriously awesome tunes. Check ‘em out as the party starts right around 9 this Monday evening.

Burlington’s hip-hop act, Lynguistic Civilians make a stop in Portland tonight to cause some ruckus over at the Flask Lounge. Comprised of four emcees, a DJ and a drummer The Civilians are always hard at work rocking the best live rap music and have even shared the stage with everyone from Gza, People Under The Stairs, Inspectah Deck, and more. Check ‘em out as the beats start droppin’ right around 9 tonight.

Your last chance to jam out at The Players Ball arrives this evening down at The Big Easy on Market Street in Portland. Tonight is your final chance to play some music with some seriously talented cats that have been coming together each and every Monday to play tunes and also jam out with members of the audience who bring their ax, horn, voice, etc. Adam Frederick, Max Cantlin, Dan Boyden, Jacob Cooley and Chas Lester have been bringing the thunder to the stage every Monday night and deserve several rounds of applause, and possibly a couple of cold brews, so stop in and hang out as the fun starts at 9 o’clock tonight.
