Turn it up at The Clash of the Titans as Soundgarden takes on Alice In Chains at Empire

Dudes and Dudettes, if we can hurdle this hump we’ll be home free towards the freakin’ weekend. Thankfully there’s a bunch of cool Wednesday stuff to check out, so let’s do it to it and power on through this Hump Day!

Doubting Gravity’s front woman, Andi Fawcett goes solo tonight as she prepares to play a set of acoustic songs down at Profenno’s on Main Street in Westbrook. Andi will be providing a wonderful soundtrack to your midweek party starting right around 8pm.

The Little Tap House on Spring Street in Portland continues its Wednesday night acoustic series with local soul man Adam Waxman tonight. Adam will be on hand to delight your earholes with some solo jams starting right around 8 o’clock.

Down at Bull Feeney’s in the Old Port you can check out another fun evening of folk tunes courtesy of local duo the Squid Jiggers. These fellas will be creating sounds that pair perfectly with an ice cold pint of beer, so swing on by and check them out if you’re in the downtown area tonight.

If you’re looking for some open mic action this Wednesday evening, then head on down to Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge on Preble Street in Portland where you can check out local musicians as they do their thing acoustically, or you can even sign up to play some tunes of your own. Every Wednesday starting right around 8, local singer-songwriter Nick Poulin hosts this free and fun event.

More open mic action takes place at the Frog and Turtle on Main Street in Westbrook this Wednesday as local rockabilly legend Pete Witham hosts tonight’s free event. Starting at 8 you can sign up to play some tunes and even check out Pete and his pals as they perform throughout the evening.

Local singer-songwriter Brian Patricks will be joining forces with bassist Damon Holman to bring their acoustic rock and blues duo, Cayden’s Call, to life on the stage of RiRa in Portland this evening. Check out these fellas as they get things going right around 8:30 this Wednesday evening.

South of the border tonight you can check out some epic, original rock n’ roll as Red Sky Mary plays an energetic set of tunes down at Fury’s Publick House in Dover, NH. The party starts at 9 o’clock this Wednesday.

One of my favorite rock n’ roll duos, When Particles Collide dare you to show this Wednesday what’s up by checking out their wicked rock n’ roll show tonight at Sonny’s Tavern in Dover, NH. These high-energy rockers will be delivering some good ol’ fashioned, pulsating rock and/or roll starting right around 9.

A full night of fantastic tuneage takes over Flask Lounge in Portland this evening as Charlottesville’s Chamomile and Whiskey share the stage with local rocker Muddy Ruckus. Anticipate tons of roots-driven, Americana and mountain-funk sounds to satiate your midweek party cravings as things get underway at 9 o’clock tonight.

Rap Night at The Asylum in Portland welcomes some emcees from down south as they present this week’s showcase featuring New Hampshire acts such as Chatham the Sun, Cody Pope and Rising Sun. Things get underway at 9 and there’ll be early and late open mic cyphers with DJ Thunder on the decks all night. Tonight’s show is free for the ladies and is hosted by the dynamic duo of Ill by Instinct and El Shupacabra.

Tonight’s Clash of the Titans at the Empire on Congress Street has a plethora of Portland musicians teaming up to pay tribute to two great Seattle bands in the form of Alice In Chains versus Soundgarden. Starting at 9:30 you can check out artists from local bands Clubber Lang and Heart Shaped Rock as they crank things up to about eleven tonight for this week’s battle.
