Tons of Tuesdaying to be done

By: Holly Nunan

All right, so another Tuesday is upon us, everyone should be back into the swing of things by now, right?  It’s time to lace up those rage shoes and pour yourselves back into those Party Pants because this Tuesday is ready to work it on out.  There are several different things to check out tonight, so let’s jump right in.

Another edition of Drop It: Open Decks Night is happening once again at Flask Lounge in Portland.  Starting at 9, you can sign up for a slot DJing on some open tables, all you need to bring are some records, CDs, and a pair of headphones! Tonight Marcus Caine will provide an opening set of house mucis to get things started.  This event is absolutely free-of-charge and always a good time, so go on and check it out.

Another freebie to check out if you spent all your cash parting this weekend will be happening over at Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge as DJ Ponyfarm presents another entertainment-filled evening of karaoke.  That’s right, if you’re looking to belt it out and be your own rock star, you can do just that starting at 9 o’clock tonight and with absolutely no cover charge.

One of my favorite rock acts returns to the stage of The Big Easy in Portland tonight to properly celebrate the night before All Hallows Eve. This week’s edition of Cover to Cover gets appropriately loud, frantic and a bit doom and gloomy as The 220s cover Black Sabbath’s 2nd studio album Paranoid in its entirety.  The fellas will kick the evening off with a set of their own killer originals followed by Sabbath’s classic album.  Things get cranking right around 9 o’clock tonight.

Maybe you want to chill out tonight and take in some experimental jazz in a toned down, low key setting.  Then make your way down to Local 188 in Portland where the Jaw Gems will be doing their thing starting up at 10.
