I swear if we can hurdle this hump we’ll be home free towards the freakin’ weekend. Thankfully there’s a bunch of cool Wednesday stuff to check out, so let’s do it to it and power on through this Hump Day!

Doubting Gravity’s frontwoman, Andi Fawcett goes solo this evening with a set of songs over at Profenno’s in Westbrook. Andi will be playing some acoustic tunes for you to bob your head to starting right around 8 o’clock.

Down at Slainte Wine Bar & Lounge on Preble Street in Portland this week’s installment of their open mic night featuring host and local singer-songwriter Dustin Saucier will be taking place.  This evening’s free event is a great place to play some new songs or take in some new sounds from fresh talent, so check it out as things get underway right around 8 o’clock tonight.

Over at Bull Feeney’s in the Old Port the Squid Jiggers return to the stage with their own brand of folk music that’s infused with barley, sugar, yeast and hops, basically some good ol’ fashioned drinking music! Tonight the fellas get the good times rollin’ right around 8. It’s free and they certainly won’t run out of beer, so check it out.

The talent-laden ruckus that is Rap Night takes over The Big Easy in Portland tonight. Every Wednesday night local emcees and beat makers Ill By Instinct and El Shupacabra team up to host their epic weekly party featuring sme of the biggest and brightest rappers around. Things get fresh starting at 9 o’clock, so head downtown and check it out.

Three local acts join forces this Wednesday for a night of melodic rock n’ roll paired with a bit punk as The Wee Lollies, Come Back Pluto and Whale Oil take to the stage at Flask Lounge on Spring Street in Portland for a free show. The party starts right around 9 o’clock.

The Clash of the Titans continues at Empire Dine and Dance on Congress Street in Portland tonight as two classic country legends duke it out on stage. Beginning at 9, you can check out Johnny Cash take on Willie Nelson for this week’s battle.
